Tunnel–framed building interaction: comparison between raft and separate footing foundations

چکیده
In this paper, the influence of foundation configuration (raft or separate footings) on tunnel–soil–framed building interaction is investigated using geotechnical centrifuge testing. Tunnelling-induced soil movements and deformation fields, framed displacements structure shear distortions (with associated modification factors) are illustrated. Framed stiffness footing bearing capacity also evaluated experimentally. Results show that plays an important role in determining ground response to tunnelling, affecting displacement as well distribution volumetric strains. particular, settlements differential horizontal larger for footings compared raft foundations. The effects width, weight eccentricity respect tunnel) structural quantified contrasted against results factor maximum distortion linked relative soil–building stiffness; interestingly, buildings with similar values stiffness, level within lower than rafts.

Geotechnical Interaction of Piled Raft Foundations: Two Case Studies
Application of pile-raft foundations, which are known as “compound foundations”, is a suitable alternative in the case of heavy load structures. The interaction behavior of pile raft foundations makes these systems very complex to analyze. Different methods have been proposed to determine the bearing capacity of piled raft systems and distribution of loads between the components, i.e. pile grou...

متن کاملRaft and Pile Foundations under Cyclic Loading
The paper presents typical phenomena which can occur due to cyclic loading in granular soil. Numerical analysis with different material laws shows the challenges to simulate the ground behaviour realistically. Results of numerical analysis by means of the Finite-Element-Method are presented and the limitation of material laws discussed.

متن کاملComparison between Combined and Separate Approaches for Solving a Location-Routing Problem in Hazardous Materials Transportation
In the case of hazardous materials management, selected routes for carrying hazardous materials (i.e., hazmat) have significant effects on locating hazmat distribution centers. Since, risk and cost are usually considered as two main attributes to determine the best routes, optimized locations are sequentially outlined depending on selected routes. In the present paper, t...
